The details were, at times, a bit painful to read (I refer specifically to the times some act of animal cruelty was mentioned - i.e. poisonin|From the Back Cover|For years readers have enjoyed Charles Waterton's intriguing book, Wanderings in South America, about his adventurous travels in Guiana, West Indies. It would be a tedious journey for him who wishes to travel through these wilds to set out from Stabroek on foot. The sun would exhaust him in his attempts to wade through the swamps and the mosquitos at night would deprive him of every hour of sleep.
